The Broadmoor in Colorado Springs, Colorado

Set in the majestic Rocky Mountains of Colorado, The Broadmoor is a luxurious 5-star resort that offers a wide selection of adventures and activities – and you guessed it, pickleball!

The Broadmoor provides guests with four designated pickleball courts onsite and regularly hosts special events, camps, and tournaments. One of the four courts happens to be the crown jewel of pickleball courts in Colorado, sitting at over 9,200 feet above sea level and offering a 360-degree view that includes Colorado Springs and Pikes Peak.

When winter sets in, the pickleball action doesn’t stop; the gameplay is simply moved indoors, where competitive play continues year-round.

Turtle Bay Resort & Spa in Kahuku, Hawaii

The Turtle Bay Resort and Spa is a pickleball hot spot on Hawaii’s island of Oahu; the year-round tropical weather means that guests can escape for an outdoor pickleball retreat any time of year! This resort is chock-full of organized activities, both pickleball related and beyond; from boating adventures and bird shows to wine tours and national pickleball tournaments. 

Horseshoe Bay hosts several popular pickleball tournaments and events each year, such as the Ultimate Doubles Pickleball Weekend and the US Senior Pickleball (USSP) national tournaments.

Guests staying at this upscale retreat can enjoy private or group lessons from the pros on site (scheduling required) and will certainly not run out of things to do.

One of the best parts of this area is that there are some amazing local mineral hot springs nearby that you can soak in after a game for some much needed unwinding and rejuvenation. 

Buena Vista has six dedicated pickleball courts and only 56 rooms, so the courts are rarely crowded!

Rancho La Puerta in Tecate, Mexico

The Rancho La Puerta fitness and spa retreat is a hub for pickleball pros and enthusiasts. This place has weekend pickleball retreats that bring in some of the best players in the world. JW Marriot in Phoenix, Arizona 


This resort is a newly renovated AAA Marriot location in the heart of the Arizona desert. It boasts 17 state-of-the-art pickleball courts with stadium lighting and constant challenge court tournaments and competitive gameplay. This resort is truly a luxurious location where some of the best players in Arizona gather.

The pickleball courts are technically members-only use, as the JW hosts a pickleball club, but the membership prices are surprisingly affordable, and guests of the hotel are granted use during their stay. 

The resort itself has a fantastically luxe spa, three sparkling swimming pools,  six on-site restaurants, dozens of private cabanas, and an 18-hole golf course designed by Arnold Palmer.

The JW Marriott also gives guests a beautiful view of the distant mountainscape from the hotel.

This place is an absolute pickleball hub, and anyone who can should visit. 

Sundial Beach Resort & Spa in Sanibel, Florida

This is a bit of an honorable mention – the Sundial Beach Resort was badly damaged by a hurricane and is temporarily closed. However, they plan to open up by the end of 2023, and when they do, it’s a must-visit resort if you’re a pickleball enthusiast.

The Sundial has a state-of-the-art pickleball stadium that is one of the largest registered USAP facilities in the country and has 12 high-quality pickleball courts that guests can play on. When the resort was in operation, they offered pickleball clinics, lessons, tournaments, and more – so once everything is restored and running again, this place is worth the visit. 

Pickleball Travel Destinations

Charleston, South Carolina

Charleston is a lovely city where the sun shines down on countless beaches, historical sites, and, you guessed it, pickleball courts! Charleston has a very active local pickleball community and hosts numerous tournaments, such as the Charleston Pickleball Open. 

Within the city limits, Charleston has over 20 locations with pickleball courts you can use. So there’s plenty of action to be had in the area, making it an excellent location for avid pickleballers to visit. 

This city is filled with rich culture, gorgeous historical landmarks, sealife, secret gardens, and more. You won’t run out of things to see and do after you’ve wrapped up your pickleball games for the day. 

Maui, Hawaii

Maui is known for its big waves, epic sunrises, and fantasy-like waterfalls, but did you know that there’s also a thriving pickleball community on the island, too? There’s a good number of public courts that can be used for free, and several social round robins and tournaments that are held on the island throughout the year. 

This is a wonderful place to visit both to play some pickleball and to explore the beautiful Maui landscapes. Make sure to take enough time on your trip to drive part of the Road to Hana, where you can see all kinds of amazing waterfalls, oceanside cliffs, and jungle trails.

There’s certainly no lack of awesome activities and food around the area. Lahaina is the hub for incredible local cuisine and live music throughout the day. This is the perfect vacation spot for a blend of casual pickleball play, good eats, and outdoor adventure. 

Scottsdale, Arizona

Scottsdale is a well-known retreat destination for tennis players and golfers alike, but several of the resorts in the area have begun implementing pickleball programs with top-of-the-line courts, and even pro players staffed that offer lessons. 

Scottsdale holds a number of championship-level courts that host several pickleball tournaments throughout the year, and there seem to always be celebrities and pro players popping in for the frequent round robin events in the area. 

This Arizona city rests east of the state capital, Pheonix, and offers fantastic desert views of rock formations, cacti, and foothills. There is no shortage of resorts and spas in the area, and there are always plenty of live shows going on for evening entertainment.

This is a great place to visit to enjoy some rest and relaxation and to focus on pickleball throughout the day. 

Bigfork, Montana

Bigfork is a small town in the heart of the Montana countryside; it experiences lovely, mild summers and freezing-cold winters. The warmer months offer the opportunity to hike, fish, and explore the massive parks around Bigfork, while the winters are perfect for skiing the slopes.

Bigfork has a surprisingly active pickleball community, thanks to Two Rivers Pickleball. There are a lot of outdoor courts for summer use and plenty of indoor pickleball clubs in the area that keep the fun going through the winter. It’s a great location to visit to explore the outdoors, network with other pickleball enthusiasts, and participate in official USA Pickleball events. 

Vero Beach, Florida

Vero Beach is a dream destination for many looking to play pickleball in sunny, warm weather all year round. Vero Beach has three public parks with a ton of pickleball courts! There are a few great organizations in the area that run mini tournaments, round robins, and offer lessons to help improve your game.

Vero Beach has a host of pristine white sand beaches, and it’s also a hot spot for volleyball action, too. So if you like both pickleball and volleyball, this might be the place for you!
